Bridesmaids
When Annie (Kristen Wiig) learns that her lifelong best friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph) is getting married, she realizes that she has no choice but to become her maid of honor. With no money to spare, she bluffs her way through the strange and expensive rituals associated with the role of bridesmaid.
At the engagement party, she meets Lillian’s cynical cousin Rita (Wendi McLendon-Covey), idealistic friend Becca (Ellie Kemper), raunchy future sister-in-law Megan (Melissa McCarthy), and Doug’s boss’ seemingly-perfect and wealthy wife Helen (Rose Byrne). Though they take an instant dislike to each other, Helen genuinely puts in the effort to be friends with Annie.
As their friendship develops, both women are jealous of Lillian’s growing popularity and status as a socialite. Helen tries to take advantage of Annie’s vulnerability to create a rivalry that extends to the wedding planning process.
Throughout the film, Annie and Helen battle over Lillian’s affections and her friendship with her fiance. In the end, they have to put their differences aside for the sake of their friend’s marriage.
The wedding begins with a bridal shower at Helen’s home that is themed as Parisian. Helen uses her influence to get the bridesmaids into the bridal shop and orders dresses for them to try on. Unfortunately, the whole group becomes ill from food poisoning.
Later, Lillian’s bachelorette party at her parents’ lake house is overruled by Helen and she books a trip to Las Vegas. Although Annie is concerned about her finances, Helen overrules her and buys a first class ticket for her.
She then decides that she is too proud to accept a ticket paid for by her friend, so she books a coach flight instead. During her trip, she is given sedatives by Helen that make her inebriated and paranoid.
On her journey home, she is involved in a car accident that causes her taillights to go out. Fortunately, she has her car insured and can get to her mother’s house in time.
The only thing that saves the day is the improvised romantic side-plot between Annie and traffic cop Nathan, played by Chris O’Dowd. It’s far from the sexiest, but it’s the funniest and most charming aspect of the film.

It is a comedy that follows a group of friends as they go on an outrageous night out in Las Vegas. The film is based on a script by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, which was first pitched to New Line Cinema in 2007.
After a rough run of bad movies, including his 2004 Starsky and Hutch remake and Borat, Phillips saw a chance for redemption with the Hangover. He enlisted screenwriters Lucas and Moore to write the script, which began as “It Happened In Vegas.”
They decided to make the story a mystery that would involve all the characters in solving each other’s problems. They framed the plot around the first night the boys had in Las Vegas and made each of them wake up to find a mystery that they needed to solve in order to get to the next scene in the story.
As a result, there was a lot of energy in the story and it kept the audience on the edge of their seats. As the movie progressed, there were more and more mysteries that were revealed.
There was a great amount of humor in the film and many fans liked how it balanced raunchy jokes with heartwarming moments. The film was also incredibly well-made, with strong performances from the cast and tight direction from Phillips.
